Into the woods

More than 3 months after its first release, Danish movie theaters are finally screening Into the woods. A quite disappointing mish-mash of fairy tales that makes you wonder why Meryl Streep chose to star in it in the first place. If you wish to see the human side of some your dearest fairy tale characters this is definitely not the movie for you. Well done Disney.

Spring or Christmas?

Merry Christmas!
This morning the city of Odense woke up with a lovely snow storm. If you were planning an Easter pic-nic, you better think twice.
This is the view from the ESN office at SDU.

Cow in town

What a nice way to promote arts for the youth!
Come find the cow in town, in front of Odense city hall

Happy Easter!

Do you want to celebrate Easter like a real Dane? The recipe is quite simple and not much different from Christmas. Three are the main ingredients: Easter beer, Easter flowers (rigorously yellow) and, of course your family and friends.
Feast on frikadeller and cheer with snaps. Easter is served.

Eat-aly

This is how my lunch bag looks today. Nothing special, just pasta salad, but in the colours of my homeland. Salad cheese, dried tomatoes and spinach make a very pretty (and quite tasty) Italian flag.

Make it rain!

Big day for workers in Denmark and no, I'm not talking about Labor day. Today is Skat day. When you find out whether you should pay extra taxes or get some $$$ back in your pockets.
FYI: Skat is the taxation bureau but it's also the Danish word for "darling". What a fortunate coincidence.

I guess somebody will go shopping soon...

Kingsman: The secret service

This is probably the only action movie I haven't slept through. Gunshots make me narcoleptic but there is much more to this movie. The best way to define? James Bond meets MIB meets Pulp Fiction. And with my favorite actor: mr. Darc....ehm Colin Firth. Let's say his mini-me has nothing to envy. In my opinion, a must-see for couples: action for him and cuties for her.

The cherry on top of the cake?
Samuel L. Jackson as the badass with the speech impediment.

Women's day

In my home country, Women's day is celebrated by giving mimosa (the flower, not the drink) to female relatives, friends and colleagues. Unfortunately, here in Denmark mimosa seems impossible to find. Since I was a little girl, my dad went to the local florist and got a little bouquet for each of his beloved women. So, let's say this flowers make me a little nostalgic.

So here it is: a pretty branch of mimosa for all the women out there.

It's music time

We all have those songs that stick to our mind for a while. Here is my March 2015 playlist from Spotify. It is nothing more and nothing less you could expect from me. A mixture of radio hits, musical successes and evergreens.

Suggestions and comments are always welcome

Enjoy your meal

We had a great dinner with wok. Now we'll enjoy Martin's homebaked scones.

Good morning!

The alarm rings and it's time to start a new day.
A fruitful day to everyone... and myself 

My favorite things

Spring might be around the corner, but here in the Danish apartment we like to keep it flowery all year around. This is how my study table usually looks like. And candles to make it just a little hyggeligt.

Sorry...

I have been MIA since Christmas and I sincerely apologise for that. Lately I have been all about my studies and put aside thedanishapartment project. But I miss it very very much! ♡ It's time to get back to it. With new posts on my life on and beyond books.

Warm Danish hugs to you all!
