Chocolate salami

Even though it looks like this, who doesn't love chocolate cake?

Preparation time:

15 mins. + 3 hours fridge rest

Ingredients:

200 gr. biscuits (digestive)
50 gr. hazelnuts or walnuts
50 gr. butter
2 pasteurized eggs
3 tbsp. cocoa powder
4 tbsp. sugar
1 plastic bag + tinfoil

Preparation:

  1. Melt the butter without letting it fry. Crumble the biscuits and the walnuts in a plastic bag, Here comes in hand our plastic bag, which makes the process way faster and cleaner. It also works as a wonderful anti-stress exercize.
  2. Add biscuits and walnuts in a bowl, add the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder and 1 or 2 egg yolk (the yellow part). It's important to have pasteurized eggs, since we won't bake this cake.
  3. Mix everything first with a fork then with your hands. the mix should come off the bowl quite easily and stick in one piece. If that's not the case, add 3-4 spoons of milk and mix again.
  4. Lay the mix on tinfoil and shape it with your hands as a sausage of about 5 cm. diameter. Wrap it in tinfoil and squezze with your hands to remove the last air bubble.
  5. Store your chocolate salami horizontally in the fridge for at least 3 hours. The dessert must be served cold in slices of about 1 cm and preserved in the fridge. I reccommend you to consume it no later than 2 days after preparation.

Note:

You can also shape this dessert in the form of small truffles or decorate it with sugar sprinkles.

Dunkin' window

The first Dunkin' Dounts shop in Denmark opened this morning at Copenhagen central station. People were so excited they managed to smash a glass window. Here is the story.
And for the Odenseaner out there, you should know that Dunkin' Donuts will be coming to Odense station later this year so, you won't need to catch a train to have a bite of hole-y heaven.

Into the woods

More than 3 months after its first release, Danish movie theaters are finally screening Into the woods. A quite disappointing mish-mash of fairy tales that makes you wonder why Meryl Streep chose to star in it in the first place. If you wish to see the human side of some your dearest fairy tale characters this is definitely not the movie for you. Well done Disney.
